Mississauga – On February 26th, families in Mississauga-Malton joined MPP Deepak Anand for the 4th Annual Family Paint Night at the Iceland Arena.

In celebration of Family Day, the event is organized by MPP Anand and his community office every year. With improving, public health indicators and most restrictions being lifted in Ontario, families were able to enjoy paint night in person this year – the first time since the start of the pandemic.

MPP Anand welcomed around 200 people, who were provided paintbrushes, paints, and canvases. Also in attendance were Ontario’s Minister of Digital Government, Minister Kaleed Rasheed as well as the Peel District School Board Trustee of Ward 5, Susan Benjamin, who attended with her family.

“It was heartwarming to come together as an extended family and witness the artistic talent of youth, adults, and seniors alike, said MPP Deepak Anand, Mississauga-Malton. I would also like to express my gratitude to the artists Anna Silgardo, Aparna Rangnekar, Nisreen Askar, and Bhumika Varma for sharing their expert tips and to all volunteers who helped make the event enjoyable for everyone.

Residents attending the paint night also shared their enthusiasm, as many of them enjoyed bonding with friends and family over-painting. For others, it was an opportunity to dabble in painting for the first time since their childhood. Following the painting sessions, families had the opportunity to take-away light refreshments with a popcorn machine operating on-site.

MPP Deepak Anand and his team would like to thank everyone for attending the Family Paint Night and for making it colourful and memorable.

We are pleased to share a sneak peek of the colourful celebration, through a video, filmed and compiled by our fantastic team:
